Location plays a very important role in the National Bike Challenge. All user information in the Challenge is sourced through a user's Strava profile. In Strava, location is primarily a social component, and the location data is not structured, formatted, verified, nor standardized. The NBC depends on structured, standardized location information to get users in the proper advocacy challenges. It turns out that bad location information affects other aspects of the NBC in non obvious ways.
Users should change their profile in Strava to ensure their location information is properly formatted. Proper
Format is "full_city_name, full_state_name full_country". No abbreviations should be used nor borough names. After a user has made the changes in their Strava profile, they should log out of their NBC account, and log back in to see the changes. Fat finger typos will always cause problems.
